Everyone wants to be healthy and for getting a healthy body, they follow different diet and exercise plans. They start with enthusiasm but slowly and steadily things come to a halt as they feel bored and demotivated. If you are willing to adopt a healthy lifestyle and lose some weight and deal with other health issues then following the keto diet is the best way to achieve your goal.
Ketogenic diet and diet plan
The ketogenic diet is a low carb and high-fat diet. Carbohydrates in the form of sugar add to your body weight as the carbs get consumed for getting energy and the stored fat remains as it is. When you are on keto, the fewer intakes of carbs promote the burning of fats which in turn results in weight loss. This whole process is termed as ketosis.
To keep your body in ketosis process, you will need a proper diet plan. You should refrain from overeating. To keep your body in ketosis, you should take at least 20 to 100 grams of carbs per day and it could vary from person to person. It is better to consult a dietician and get a keto diet plan prepared as per your body type and your needs. This will help you in getting better results.
Method to intake low carbs
If you are interested in the keto diet, you must know how to start with the keto diet. There are two methods for adopting the keto diet:
- Less carb to high carb
- High carb to less carb
Less carb to high carb is the method to know the maximum amount of carb to keep your body in ketosis process. You should start your keto diet with 20 grams of carbs in a day. As you feel that your body has started the ketosis process, after 3 to 4 days start adding 5 grams of crabs every week. You can check your ketones with the help of ketones meter. This method is hard at first but it is the most recommended method to lose your weight.
High carb to less carb method is for those who cannot leave their food all at once. So, in start experts suggest the intake of high amount of carbs. You can lessen the number of crabs every week to around 5 grams till your body does not come in the ketosis process. This process might take time to bring your body into ketosis.
No intake of carbs
A question that might arise in the minds of people, especially those who are taking the keto diet that if fewer carbs are helpful then no carbs will be more helpful. But this thinking is wrong. Not taking carbs can have a negative effect on your body as some sugar intake is essential. 20 to 30 grams intake of carbs is sufficient to reduce your weight and for your body also.
Ketosis is the process that occurs when the body comes in a favorable condition for the process. So, follow the diet religiously and wait for the results to become evident.
